Myrtle's Father Adopts Another Baby
What A Lovely Day.
Myrtle and I went to the Nature Center to Adopt Myrtle a little Sister.
Myrtle was so excited, She could hardley contain Herself, ( Actually She diden't, She peed all in the Carseat)
All the way to the Adoption center She sang and cooed, kept getting in and out of Her carseat,
Hanging from the rearveiw, as usual. I never saw Her so Happy.
When We arrived, we went down to the Nursery, where all the little Baby Opossums were,
And we both peeked through the glass at all the little babies. There were little ones, Fat ones, Hairy ones, Silver ones, Black ones, Twins, Triplets. etc, etc, etc.
Myrtle was staring real hard at them, And I asked Her which one She liked, Come to find out She wasen't staring at the Babies, She was staring at all the full food bowls.
"The one with the Grapes and Apples She replied".
We looked and looked but just coulden't make up our mind. So I picked up Myrtle and put Her in the Nursery with all the Babies, All of a Sudden one baby climbed up onto Myrtle's back and snuggled into Her fur, We knew right then that She was the one.
Myrtle named her little Sister Sweet-Pea, and a Sweet-Pea She is.
She is very small, about the size of a mouse. Very soon I will post a few pictures of Her on Our Blog here.

Myrtle's Aunt Hilda

This is a picture of Myrtle's Auntie Hilda ( circa 1940 )
Auntie Hilda lived at the Courthouse in Mayor Smiths Office.
Hilda was Mayor Smiths typist and Girl Possum Friday.
Mayor Smith really like Hilda because She could type faster than any Human Secretary. She used both hands and Her tail.
Mayor Smith dictated very fast and only Hilda could keep up on the typewriter with Him. They often would take a break and relax, Hilda liked to sit on Mayor Smiths Shoes during breaktime. ( see picture )
Hilda worked at the courthouse for 20 years all during Mayor Smiths tenure. Finally after Mayor Smith retired, Hilda retired too and Moved to Boca Raton in Florida to be with Her Granchildren, all 50 of them.
She currently is in an Old Folks Home, enjoying Her Golden Years. Myrtle and I plan on visiting Auntie Hilda this Spring. Myrtle loves looking through Her old Family history Pictures, She has a lot of time to look now since She is Still recovering from Her Dog bite.
This is one of Her Favorites. She has a lot of Auntie Hilda in Her, Because She likes to sit on my shoes when we relax in front of the Fireplace.
More Family history Later
Sincerely
Myrtle's Father
